The red rock of 'Llawder' is mixture of mudstone, shale, and quartzite. It is significantly different to the rock on ‘Fallen Block Zawn’, which is predominantly compacted quartzite. Both Llawder and Fallen Block Zawn, however, form the same promontory, with Llawder being one side of the promontory and Fallen Block Zawn being the other side of the promontory. When there is a low tide, it is possible to sea-level-traverse along the bottom of Llawder, to access Fallen Block Zawn area.
Llawder is ultimately an overhanging wall. The line of ‘Icarus’ is the original route up the wall, which consists of an open corner with strenuous crack climbing. ‘Warpath’ is a compelling line, which takes the flying arête up the centre of the wall.
