Clogwyn y Tarw (The Gribin Facet)

Clogwyn y Tarw is the remains of glacial action. It forms the lower part of Y Gribin ridge and has been sheared to become a truncated spur. There are two main buttresses to climb on and both have a northerly aspect, being at an altitude of approx. 450m.

Whilst climbing both routes (Slab Climb, D, & Slab Direct Route, VD) we observed an abundance of geological evidence.

19 May 2010.
On Wednesday we climbed Ordinary Route on Idwal Slabs, which consisted of 4 pitches of easy climbing. The guide book suggests an hour and a half to complete the climb, but we finished in advance.
